HELLEBAUT - BEITIA, THE ROAD TO BARCELONA BEGINS IN MADRID
[July, 1st] The Madrid 2010Athletics Meeting will be one of high quality and in particular the women's high jump will be one of the main events at the Moratalaz Municipal Sports Complex on Friday, due above all to the presence of two women, the Olympic and European champion in the event, the Belgian Tia Hellebaut, and the Spanish record holder and World indoor silver medallist this winter in Doha, Ruth Beitia. Both met up this morning in Madrid and were able to view the city from the 17th floor of one of the Kio Towers in the Plaza de Castilla.

MEETING OF THE STARS IN MORATALAZ
[June, 30] Athletics fans who make their way to the Moratalaz Municipal Sports Complex (Madrid) for the Madrid Meeting 2010 will be able to enjoy nearly four and a half hours of the best athletics to be seen in Spain. The competition starts at 17.30 on Friday 2nd July with the men's hammer throw, followed by another throws event, the women's discus, scheduled for 19.15. In between these two events several open races will be held for athletes of different standards who have already been entered for the competition. From 19.30 until 22.00, the Madrid Meeting officially begins, with the best Spanish athletes present along with some of the best athletes in the world at the moment. The competition will be televised live on TeleDeporte between 20.00 and 22.00.

TEN ATHLETES WHO HAVE JUMPED OVER EIGHT METRES
[June, 26] The South African athlete and African record holder in the long jump, Godfrey Mokoena, will be back at the Moratalaz Sports Complex to compete at the Madrid Meeting on 2nd July.
