Monzón will be again the center of European athletics attention with the celebration of the Combined Events European Championships 1st and 2nd League next 1st and 2nd of July.
This Aragonese city, located in the Huesca's province, is the second in population of the province and the sixth in all Aragón and also the cradle of important sportmen and sportwomen in all its history. Among them outstanding athletes, all of them Olympians, like hurdler Javier Moracho, decathlete Álvaro Burrell, the current city Major, steeplechase runner Eliseo Martín and pole vaulter Javier Gazol.
This will be the second time that Monzón will host this competition. The previous one was in 2006 with the organization of the 2nd League. It will join some of the best specialists in combined events of the continent and also the best Spanish athletes of the moment, including Spanish heptathon's record holder Jorge Ureña, who recently achieved the silver medal in the European indoor Championships in Belgrade.
In addition, Monzón will be a great opportunity for Spain to show its #pasionporcompetir in order to achieve the top European category, a place where the country deserves to be according to the history and quality of our athletes.
