The main activities in which volunteers will collaborate will be developed in the different areas of the organisation. Some of them are the following:
- Lodging:
- Assitance in the oficial hotels.
- Venues:
- To support the maintenance and facilities services personnel.
- To support in the technical equipment operating.
- Logistics:
- Accreditations.
- Support in the warehouses and distribution centres administration.
- The assistance to volunteers: distribution of clothes and personal equipment, provisioning, transport, tickets…
- Distribution of publications, bulletins…
- Marketing:
- To support the assembly and control of the venues advertising displays in the venues.
- The attention of the sponsors.
- Press and TV:
- Accomodation of the media representatives.
- To support in the media centres administration.
- To attend the necessities of the media representatives.
- Promotion:
- Entertainment in the venues.
- To support in the organisation of cultural and promotional activities.
- Protocol:
- VIP's and authorities accompaniment.
- Public attention and information.
- Opening and Closing Ceremonias.
- Awards ceremonies.
- Guides.
- Security:
- Collaboration with the Law Enforcement Corp and Civil Protection.
- Control of the movement.
- Control of the accreditations, venues accesses and restricted areas.
- Control of the parkings.
- Technical Area:
- To accompany the athletes to the doping control centres.
- To support in the sports material distribution and the venues preparation.
- To assist athletes and teams.
- To attend in the facilities the diferent colectives that participate in the competition.
- To attend the necessities of the sanitary personnel.
- To help in the development of the competitions.
- The results management.
- Transports:
- Welcome in the airport, port, train stations…
- To help in the buses.
- Drivers of organisation vehicles.
- Generalities:
- To support in the information city points.
- Translation and interpretation.
- Accomodation of public in the venues.
In order to accomplish with some of these labours it will be necessary experience and/or specific knowledge. In others it will be not necessary, being the only points the enthusiasm and attitude of mind. We have to remind that the volunteer's collaboration is not a proper work; so responsibilities are not demanded. Their support is only a support to the personnel in charge of the organisation.
REQUIREMENTS TO BE VOLUNTEER:
- Age: Older than 16 years (befote 1st september 2007). Minors must present their parents authorization.
- Availability: Among other activities linked to the World Championships we incluye the Internacional Meeting Ciudad de Valencia 2008 and the Spanish Championships 2008.
ORGANISATION WILL PROVIDE WITH:
- Accreditation: for all the competitions in which he/she collaborates.
- Lodging: is not included.
- Provisioning: during the days in which he/she execute his/her labour.
- Certificate: after the conclusion of the Worlds as a recognition of the labours made.
- Instruction: general and specific depending on the labour designated.
- Volunteer's guide: with all the important information for volunteers.
- Clothing: a volunteer's uniform according to the disponibility.
- Insurance: covering the activity related with the volunteer's program.
- Transport: only in the internal tranasports to accomplish with his/her labours. Personal transport from the residences to the concentration points is not included.
- Visas: organisation will not deal with any kind of Visas.
